Although the phased approach for regulations is reasonable, Malaysia’s legal framework — designed for traditional markets — faces significant challenges with new innovations like DeFi, tokenised RWAs, and DAOs. Without legislative updates, Malaysia risks falling behind in the digital asset sector.
